Mobile Devices in the classroom!

Hi, this topic is very interesting because I personally think that mobile devices should be used in the classroom, in an effective way. If we take into consideration the following statement: "90% of college students say they save time studying with technology, including mobile devices and tablets" (Source: CourseSmart Survey, May 2012), we can actually think that students can have benefits from technology. I have recently had a participation in a webinar " educational mobile apps" at #CLED, and I understood that if we want to use mobile devices in the classroom, we can, but we have to set the goal and the different ways we should use them with students.

The following video about BYOD, explain the reasons why schools have problems when they try to use technology at school. BYOD (Bring your own device) is actually a great way teachers and schools don´t need to spend money in technology but training teachers to use them effectively in the class.

We should use technology to teach students where there are any time, any place in and any setting. We should know what apps we can use in the classroom, which apps they should use outside the classroom, and get them involved into learning using what they love: mobile devices!

In my next post, I´ll give you some apps we are able to use with the students to make the learning process meaningful for them.
